About Frank Gunzburg, Ph. D.
Education:
Dr. Gunzburg graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in Psychology in 1967 from Virginia Commonwealth University. Psi Chi, the National Honor Society in Psychology selected him for membership and the Hillel Organization bestowed him with the Hillel National Honor Key. In 1974, Dr. Gunzburg earned his Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D.) in Counseling from American University in Washington, DC. While in attendance, he earned a University-Wide Competitive Scholarship.
Special Recognition:
During his doctorate training, Dr. Gunzburg received special recognition from Dr. John Cameron, M.D., a world-renowned psychoanalyst and the Director of Training and Research at the Chestnut Lodge Psychiatric Hospital in Rockville, Maryland. Dr. Cameron gave his personal endorsement to Dr. Gunzburg to attend his highly selective advanced training seminar, which admitted only a few students each year.
Personal:
Dr. Gunzburg and his wife live in Baltimore, Maryland. Two of their six children still live at home. His personal interests include nutrition and health-related subjects, crafts, computers, and outdoor activities.
Psychology License:
In 1975, Dr. Gunzburg took the licensing board examination given by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists and was licensed to practice psychology in Maryland. He also holds the Certificate of Professional Qualification (CPQ) in Psychology from the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards. The CPQ certifies having met the basic national standards for psychology practice.
Counselor Certification:
Dr. Gunzburg is certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors with a specialty in Mental Health Counseling, and is a certified supervisor.
Author of Self-Help Books:
Dr. Gunzburg authored several self-help books for people suffering in troubled marriages and searching for marriage help, even after a marital affair. Please see the links on the right side of the page for a listing of all the e-books.
Telephone and Office Consultations:
Dr. Gunzburg schedules telephone consultations with people from across the country and around the world. In-person consultations are scheduled for the Owings Mills office which is just outside Baltimore, Maryland. Check the contact page for the exact location, directions to the office, and current fees.
